That's kind of where I land on this as well. I hate the stupid angelic narrative our crap media pushes, pretending it was just a sweet little angel buying iced tea and skittles ....errrr.... playing with a toy who got mowed down. However, I don't think it's appropriate for a cop to start shooting within a second of pulling up unless the boy actually really pulled out the gun to and aimed it at them -- and I don't think that happened.

Are you really okay telling cops not to risk their personal safety at all? If so, then you can expect a lot more of this. Personally though, I would prefer to hire courageous individuals that are willing to put the safety of society before their own, and pay them accordingly for doing so.

You are NEVER going to find a million people who are willing to put the lives of a possible perp (a suspect wielding a gun) over their own. That just doesn't make sense.

It just sucks how it all turned out in this case.
