I have a problem wit random lock ups on a old socket seven pcchips motherboard. The onboard video constantly locks or goes to a screen with horizontal lines of colour. Can any one help?

I take it your running an SIS chipset? If so...
I hate to tell ya this dude, but your board is probably on its way out...
if your wanting to keep running your sock 7 cpu you should try to find a new board.
in a last ditch effort you might want to try new video drivers...
good luck to ya
