onboard video!!!!

For games definately no but for dvds yes. I have it on my laptop. It uses a part of the laptops RAM as video memory. As you probably can imagine, the performance is not the best because of the Ram's low bandwith due to sharing of the resources, but it's fine for everyday tasks such as browsing the web or watching movies.

The new ATi AMD64 motherboards with PCI express probably have the best onboard video chips as of right now. It would be powerfull enough for DVD's and general use, even some older less detailed games would play fairly ok. But for any major game in the last year or so, you would get low performance.

What is your budget? A good add-in card is better than IGP, but if on a shoestring budget the right IGP set-up can offer good value.
