I know most of you are going to say video card, but I'm building a computer for my friend who's going to use it just for surfing the web, music, pictures, and whatnot. Should I just get him a cheap video card for that or just use the onboard video?

actually i recommend you to go with an onboard card like the 780g or the 8200. They can decode video and use less power than a discrete video card. You can even do some light gaming with them.

If he's not into gaming I would go with an intel chipset and onboard.

Okie dokie. Well, he wants something cheaper than a 780G, but I'll get something along those lines. Thanks.
