Onboard video card

hey guys a friend is having problems with games being a slide show

He has an i5 & a gtx560(or similar)
The games have not been a problem in past he added an ssd and reinstalled windows 10.

Is it possible the onboard graphics are running instead of his discreet card?

He's pretty computer literate
I know nothing else of the problem

What does he have his monitor plugged in to?

Check bios and update video driver. In device manger check which video card actually being used.
