Onboard video and DVD?

Can the MS-6378 (using Via chipset and Trident integrated video 8meg i believe) work with a dvd rom? Based off a 1ghz duron with 128mb ram. Never used a dvd rom so I don't exactly know if it would work without a decoder card and what not.

If you have a DVD rom drive without a DVD decoder card, you can still play DVDs by using software DVD players ie PowerDVD. You still have to buy it or acquire it somehow. Your CPU will do most of the work but at 1 ghz all is good.

Thanks for the info 🙂 I have never used a dvd-rom drive so I don't know exactly what it needed. I'm one of those types that looks at integrated video, shrugs his shoulders, and says "Why oh why?" Plus I have a home theater system that I use and have a stand alone dvd player, so I look at my monitor and say hrm 🙂 Thanks again for the help.
