Onboard Sound Question

ok. I have a Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra 9 nforce4 mobo.

The manual says it has ALC850 onboard sound.

When i went to disable my onboard sound in BIOS, it only had AC97 to disable.

Are these the same?

How come it doesnt say ALC850 instead of AC97?
