onboard sound problems...

everytime I play some game that uses sound, (quake 3 arena, counterstrike, warcraft 3, etc), the sound will randomly distort and make weird noises, and sometimes after its done doing that, the sound goes away completely, so I have to restart (dang, its happening right when I'm typing this). any suggestions?

btw, I updated my sound drivers, and still they sound like crap everytime I play a game.

Hi,

If you have a VIA chipset motherboard, I'd make sure you download and install the latest hyperion 4in1 drivers from VIA.

BTW - This should maybe be posted in "technical support" as this is not "highly technical" and no doubt this thread will be shortly locked.
