i have an abit nf7-s and wanted to put an audigy in.... i had an old sound blaster live that i installed but it would only work if i disabled the onboard sound...when i first put it in they both worked but on reboot only the sound card worked.....i have a card reader with front audio connectors that i want to install on to the soundcard but dont have the front connectors( or at least as far as i can tell) like the motherboard has.... is there a way to get the onboard and the sound card to work together...thanks for the help in advance.

but would i have to disable the onboard sound?.....it seems that i can only use either or....is there a way to get both to work at the same time? or would i need a different type of sound card for them to work together?

Why would only be able to use one or the other? The sound card has its own jacks and its own controller. It really is no problem at all. If you only have 1 set of speakers or headphones, you're going to only use one at a time, but it can all easily be done in software. Just set the card as the preferred playback and recording device, and you're done.
