onboard sound (P4PE) vs. Audigy 2 - Gaming performance

Hi all,

My current rig is the following:
Asus P4PE mobo
Intel P4 2.4
1 gig RAM (Kingston Value)
200 gb 7200 rpm WD hard drive
Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb
onboard sound, lan

My question is, if I replace the onboard sound on the P4PE with an Audigy 2 (regular, ZS, gamer, etc?) will I see an improvement in my gaming performance?Right now I'm playing games like Wolfenstein ET, Call of Duty, Far Cry, Warcraft 3 and (soon to be) Doom 3. I've heard that onboard sound can use up CPU cycles and such and that a separate sound card can take some of that load off. But I've also heard that it's pretty insignificant. I just can't figure out if it would help in my particular setup. TIA!:)

It should be a few percent-maybe 5-10% at most? But I doubt you'll really be able to notice it without running benchmarks.
