Onboard SATA CPU utilisation

Ok folks, I just got a 74Gb Raptor, and it still amazes me how SATA use so much more CPU cycles than SCSI drives when copying large files/volumes.

Here are my specs:

Asus P4C800 - 74gb Raptor - cpu usage = 50+ percent.
Asus P4P800 - 250gb Hitachi - cpu usage = 50+ percent.

What's your input?

what are you using for bench? I was getting 32-36% with an older copy of HDTach. Downloaded the newest version and now get 2-3% Cpu Utilization.
