I am running the Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe. I have the network (RJ45) connector plugged into my Marvell Gigabit LAN. On some of the tweak guides i can alleviate the CPU workload by ofloading it to the NIC's Processor. Does this have a processor, ie should i enable this tweak?

I think you missread the tweak, it's only good if you have a pci network card that's got a onboard processor... Not an onboard nic... ;)

the fix will take all network processing off of the CPU only if your NIC has an onboard processor.

If you're having problems with slow booting or Windows being unresponsive for a moment when the desktop loads, go into My Computer. Go into Tools > Folder Options... Click on the View tab and uncheck "Automatically search for network files and printers." Click Apply then OK. That should take care of it.

A lot of these tweaks are coming from gamers that know ?squat? about Networking and try to apply Tricks from one type computing hardware to another, usually making things worse

If you have Onboard NIC or any other regular NIC leave every thing on default and Optimize the TCP/IP Stack.

I didn't misunderstand it. I was wondering does the Gigabit Lan have an onboard Processor. I mean it is made by marvel and it has a marvel chip on there would that mean it has an onboard processor. Also wouldn't the Nvidia LAN count also as it is run through the Southbridge (isn't that why its CPU utilization is so low).
