Onboard NForce video or geforce 256 DDR?

The subject says it all. I'm moving everything over to an MSI nforce mobo this weekend. I still have my GeForce 256 DDR from two years ago. What I need to know is which will give me better performance? The GF2 MX-like performance on the MSI board, or my geforce 256 ddr in the AGP slot?

I'm not going to upgrade my card until later this year. No point buying a GF3 if no games I play currently use the features on it

Thanks!

The GeForce 256 DDR will prolly be a tad faster (not as fast as a GTS but faster than a MX)

GF DDR would definitely be faster, it's quite a bit faster then the GF2 MX400 in resolutions above 640x480 and the nForce integrated graphics doesnt even perform as well as the MX400 does.

The 256 will be way faster.

I was checking a friend's GeForce 2 MX for compatibility in my mobo (he wanted to buy the same motherboard) and I ran 3dMark2000. I got 3750 with the GeForce 2 and 6127 with the GeForce 256 DDR. So it's definitely faster. Rest of the system is Athlon XP1600+/MSI K7t266 Pro2/512Mb 2100 CAS2.5 DDR RAM.

I believe that the GeForce 256 DDR will be a tad faster, but its feature set won't be as rich. I believe that the NV11 and NV15 chips contain some new features (but very few new ones).

In addition, the 256 DDR consumes lots of power. It hogs like 8 times more power than the Geforce 2 MX on board. If the PSU won't cut it on your new system, I'd just use the integrated MX.
