If you have an add-on PCI IDE (say ata100 for example) controller from like promise you cannot also use the oboard PCI IDE controller too right ? One takes over and the other is disabled right ? Just wondering, thanks !
The add on card acts as an SCSI controller; If you want to boot to a drive on it, you must select boot with SCSI in the BIOS. I'm using the ATA66 card with DVD, CDRW, and CDrom all on thier own channels, along with 2 HD's.
Well, I guess it will be, 45GB IBM (soon) my 30GB WD, my 8.4 GB WD, my Hitachi DVD, my Panasonic CD-RW, an internal ZIP I have and.... who knows what else !!! Yipee !!!
