Here's my current setup:

P4 1.6a packed 1/17/02 stock HSF, malaysia
epox 4g4a+
Samsung original 512 single stick in 2nd slot
core volts = 1.65
other volts set to defaults
CPU Temps on boot are in upper 40s to low 50s
Using the onboard intel graphics (for now - will eventually put in my ATI AIWonder Radeon)

I've run it at 138fsb w/o a problem but 140 fsb causes the screen to look garbled in spots and it freezes. No blue screens though.

I'm wondering if it's a problem running the onboard graphics too fast. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

You are locking the agp/pci in the bios, right??? If not do so....

It is not uncommon for many onboard devics to have issues when ocing or limiting ocing severly.

The best thing I can say is check the lock and then maybe try a standalone device.

yes, if you use onboard graphics, you wont be able to overclock that high.

Reason: Onboard graphics uses shared memory (memory is shared with your DRam). So when you increase the FSB, your memory is also overclocking and onboard graphics then has troubles reading from an overclocked memory.

Highest i was able to oc w/ onboard graphics on 4g4a+ was 125 fsb. using a video card.....166 fsb was fine.

hope that helps.

I've got it running with my new ATI all in wonder 85500dv. I'm going to push it slowly. Currently running it at 140mhz without problem.

What temps do you think I can push the P4 1.6A up to?

Thanks

Personally I prefer to keep it below 50C. I am using the Thermalright AX-478 heatsink with a Vantec Toranado fan and my temps while running Prime95 are 43-44C in a room thats 27C.
