Question Onboard ethernet stop working!

My Intel ethernet connection stop working so I purchased a PCI3 2.5 Gigabit card! Spend almost the entire day trying to remove the install driver and download a replacement! No dice! Call Intel and waited 45 minutes and I already try out all the experts ideas to make it function again. Using an usb wifi connection to get by!
 
Seems more like a rant post.

what type of driver problems are you having?

did you try to boot any live versions of Linux to test the onboard NIC?

No! I done with it for now! Might go back and try to fix it in 2023 if it is not fix by software updates by then.
 
Installed the new 2.5GB 1/3 sized ethernet network PCIe card! Recognized automatically and it superseded all my network connections without my manually doing anything! 🙂

I purchased a Cudy 2.5bps PC Express Network Adopter card. It was All black circuit board and in the center has a nice pleasant red oversized heatsink in the center. Made by Shenzhen Technology Co., Ltd. 2021. Love the look of this card inside my case. 🙂
 
Great. Now you need to get some more RGB cards to make a real dazzling synchronized light show. Like the fourth of july every time it powers up.

This ethernet card fits inside an enterprise class corporate workstation tower made by Lenovo. 😉

Using a CAT8 3 ft. cable!

"Category 8 is the official successor to Cat6A cabling. It is officially recognized by the IEEE and EIA and parts and pieces are standardized across manufacturers. The primary benefit of Cat8 cabling is faster throughput over short distances: 40 Gbps up to 78’ and 25 Gbps up to 100’. From 100’ to 328’, Cat8 provides the same 10Gbps throughput as Cat6A cabling.

Due to these distance limitations, the best use case for Cat8 would be inside a data center to connect network equipment to each other. It would not be cost-effective to use Cat8 for an office build out as the distance would quickly decrease the speed throughput to that of Cat6A, which is cheaper to procure and install for the same performance."

Why is that? I bought a motherboard (Gigabyte B660M AX whatever) specifically based on Intel NIC, and I am in the middle of troubleshooting because it is not working. I am not up to date with the latest tech but I thought Intel usually had a leg up on Realtek stuff.
 
It is quite annoying because I had several other boards I considered but gave the nod to the "Intel NIC." I could have chosen alternatives with Realtek NIC and other (better) feature sets.

This. 100%.

I have an I225-V on my mainboard, weird network only crashes started showing up in one of my online games. Network stopped working, everything else kept working. Required power off reboot to fix.

Did some research.

Purchased a RTL8125B* add in board for PCIx1 slot.

Took the time to install the driver off the realtek website.

Problems all gone.
