onboard audio using hdmi

I am trying to get my laptop speakers to also work with hdmi feed to TV.
Windows XP with HP DV7, Nvidia digital audio and have hdmi cloned o/p into my TV.
TV speakers work fine but Onboard audio seems muted.
Due to the laptop being in another room would like to enable the onboard speakers on the laptop also with TV speakers.
Any suggestions please.
 
I would like my laptop speakers to work also with the TV. Presently plugging in the hdmi cable to the laptop mutes the laptop speakers.
Any help with a fix would be appreciated.
