Onboard Audio Or Audigy 2?

Would it be better to use onboard Realtek ALC888 audio on a Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 motherboard instead of a Creative Audigy 2? If so, why?
 
Unless you need some of the audio outputs that your MB has that the Audigy 2 does not, I do not see any features or specs that are better about the ALC888 over the Audigy 2. The sound quality should be a little better with the Audigy 2. Using a discrete sound card will draw a tiny bit more power. Other minor considerations are computer weight and airflow.
