Onboard Audio Failure? need help

I have been haveing some problems lately apps dont run right and task bar lost some icons and my games will freeze up, when they do the sound just keeps skipping.

Now about an hour ago i went to listen to some music and i got the message that there was no audio installed. I have audio onboard my soyo mb so i got out the disk and reinstalled the c-media software. I then got my sound back but still have the other problems.

now i was wondering if mabe the onboard audio could be my problem? and if so can anyone recommend a good auidio card.

I have the same motherboard as you and have never had any sound related problems at all. I just put a turtle beach santa cruz tonight but I haven't had the chance to fire it up yet. I know it's a little older card but it's a lot better than anything with creative on it.
