trying to map a folder on a win7 home premium for a specific user with specific permissions from an xp pro machine.
the default win7 shared folder c:/users/ maps ok with 2 of its subfolders, default and public. it is shared with 'everyone' having full control, as far as I can tell this is the default install win7 configuration.
In my real world I don't want to share some folder with everyone having full control.
I created a folder /documents/my documents/work that I want to share with a specific user, read and write only. I set the folder to be shared. I created user1 with read/write on the win7 machine. I'm logged into the same user, user1 with the same password on the xp machine but getting don't have permissions message either mapping or just trying to view contents.
is there something to do with a path starting with a library?
there must be some way to do this?
