Rig:

AMD 64 3200 Winchester @ 2.4GHz

2 X 1GB DDR 400 RAM using Divider 333 running @ 399MHz 1T 3-3-3-8

Radeon X1900XTX

All settings at 1280x1024 MAX in game except in game AA
CCC- default

1)In game AA - Disabled
Avg: 48.6
Max: 148
Min:29

2)In game AA - Enabled
Avg: 49.5
Max: 146
Min: 29.5
Yes, FPS increase with AA enabled

3)CCC 16x HQ AF 4x AA
Avg: 47
Max:150
Min:26

Now, the thing I didn't like about the last option is that I get a min of just 26FPS whereas I would want it to be atleast around 30FPS. Does a min FPS of 26 or 30 make a big difference?
Is the in game test more stressthan than real world gameplay?

That one.
At that res. and with your computer there's no reason why you can't play it on those settings. You might have to turn off the HQAF but other then that, 4xAA/16xAF is very well within reach.

why don't you do the smart thing and try it out. only you can know if its playable.

eg. some ppl can't play below 60 fps. some like a min of 20-25

Uhh, use your own sense of what is good, great or crap.
You decide what your ideal game experience is - you are the one playing and it is your eyes and mind that will enjoy the senses. What does it matter what we define as an ideal gaming experience?

Yay, another Akshayt thread for the laughter of the masses :p

I would go with the third option, since the average is about the same.. The min fps IMO dont matter much because, as long as your pc has a 0,5 second breakdown and it goes down to 1 fps, the min will be 1 fps, which is quite stupid...

Dont get so obsessive over numbers, just play the game for what it is. Spending more time looking at the FPS counter than the actual game itself is not healthy. Next you will be repeatedly opening and closing every door you walk through and wasing your hands 5 times every time you go to the bathroom :p

I don't know, is it???
You have to try out the game and see what you think. Your video card is powerful enough and it "shouldn't" have any problem playing it at those settings. Crank EVERYTHING up to the max (i.e. 4xAA/16xHQAF, max ingame, etc...) and see if it's playable. If it's not, just start turning stuff down. (start with HQAF, then do some ingame settings)

the problem is you're not supposed to force AA nor AF for this game. Leave it at APP preference.
Also, I alt tab out of the game...gives me a huge boost (don't know why...)

as others have said... try it yourself. But for sake of comparing the numbers, I place most emphasis on the min framerates, simply because 1) it's a worst-case scenario and 2) the higher the FPS gets, the less likely you'll notice the improvements. You'll notice a jump from 20 to 30 but probably not notice a jump from 60-70. If the max is 100 or 200, does it really matter? Your monitor won't even refresh that fast anyway. So IMO, the min FPS is the important one, but even still... subjectivity rules here. Let your eyes make the choice for you.
