do you think it's better to buy new clothes after you have lost weight, or is it a motivator to buy clothes in smaller sizes before the intended weight has been reached?

i can see arguments for each side. i've lost a bit of weight and incidentally went shopping (i needed new clothes anyhow)...but i also have some cousins who will buy clothes in 2 sizes smaller and vow to reach that size.

discuss!

i think it's better to lose the weight and buy yourself new clothes as a reward. that way you won't face the possibility of owning never-worn too-small clothes if you end up not losing weight.

You'd probably save more money if you bought the clothes after you lost the weight. You never know how much you'll lose or for that matter how much you won't. ;)

just buy clothes that fit you. I always buy fitting clothes. I don't like to wear baggy tops.

I see it a waste of money to buy clothes that are too small. Whats the point? just buy when they fit you.

Nice fitting clothes IS YOUR BEST FRIEND:D

Definately only buy clothes that fit you. Better yet, don't buy new clothes until you can fit into the sizes you want. That way you look like a slob, or will lose weight.

I was gonna say buy before you lose it, but I realise that logically one may lose weight but not as much or rather more than they anticipated. That's simply uneconomical.

So, maybe the best remedy would be to buy just exactly one of the size you wish to reduce to. Be sure to buy an extremely beautiful tempting clothing, for it will act as a therapy. Use it as a motivation to work toward achieving that goal. If and when you are successful, then you buy plenty of clothes the same size. :D If you aren't successful, then you suffered a minimal loss, and at an expense you can recover. Hehehe! :p

Not that I've had to deal with weight, so I may just be talking rubbish. It seems to make sense that way to me, though. :p

I lost weight and now I'm stuck with all these XL shirts that I look ridiculous in :D

Heck, I'm so used to buying largish clothes I just bought a pair of 38 shorts the other day that are just a tad too big (but good if I use a belt kinda). Oh well :D
