So essentially the military is just on cruise control. What could possibly go wrong?

Trump and other Presidents don't get involved as a rule, but Trump is unique in reveling in his willful ignorance and therefore unable to make any informed decisions. This, of course, is his entire life.

He knows more than the generals, so wouldn't that mean he also knows more than the intelligence officials as well?

Remember back during the election when Kasich’s people said he was approached as the potential VP candidate and they said Trump wanted to just serve as a figurehead and let other people do the day to day stuff and they denied it all? Has his presidency been anything but the complete exemplification of that?

Trump already has said he has a very, very large brain - why would he need more intelligence?

We have a baby in the White House who doesn't want to engage with topics that overwhelm his meager understanding of the world. That and he works for Putin. Cadet Bonespurs, with his ignorance and disdain, trivializes and mocks the risk so many in defense subject themselves to every day. The more I contemplate it, all the dozens of ways he is unfit for the role of CiC, the more I get heartburn. I hope this cancer can be excised before our Constitution withers to death or we find ourselves in a war.

The guy simply doesn't want anybody in gov't service telling him what to do, or even vaguely suggesting it. In his mind, he was voted into office because of the way he dictatorially ran things outside of said office, despite the reality that he is an incompetent doofus in private life and has more than proven that in the two years he's been in the West Wing.

I mean, how can he possibly take advice from his underlings when he just so happens to be the smartest person in the room no matter what room he just so happens to find himself in? Of course he's going to take his own misguided uniformed advice from the gut rather than rely on advice from folks whose only desire (in his mind) is to take him down and humiliate him with extreme prejudice just as he would do to them.

He wants to take credit for things he is incapable of accomplishing while refusing to take responsibility for those many many things he's been fvcking up on a daily basis. That in itself limits his willingness to seek advice and thus force him to give credit to others yet so easily blame others for his failures.

He doesn't need anyone giving him advice except when it comes to improving his miserable ratings or at least stopping his ratings from falling any further. Ergo, whatever advice Hannity, Limbaugh and Coulter gives him is much more worthy of his attention than anything his traitorous intelligence/security agencies can provide in the way of keeping him in office.

After all, isn't that what every single Repub in office is manically focused on? They're all under threat of losing their control of the gov't. The mid-terms gave them a severe wake up call. Especially so for Trump.

Yup he gets all the critical intelligence he needs from Fox. NSA, CIA, and FBI don't have anything on Hannity.

Trump loves them accolades, praises and advice from folks who support him. As we all know by now, that's the only folks he will listen to because they give him what he wants: the "respect and loyalty" he thinks he deserves (for some weird reason or another).

Regrettably for him, our intelligence agencies and justice dept.'s are looking for factual proof of threats against the nation and Trump just so happens to be easy pickings from foreign threats because he is a sleazeball crooked to the core entrepreneur who will break laws as easily as he lies his way through life. The highly suspect and shady ways in which he has run his business operations previous to his ascending the throne that made him so vulnerable is now the subject of numerous investigations of which have already caught some big fish that are intimately related to Trump.

So tragically funny that his supporters are still attempting to make the rest of the world believe that despite all of his close associates being indicted, convicted and cooperating with authorities Trump is innocent of anything and everything that he is being suspected of, that the control freak ring leader himself is innocent because for some fantastical reason(s) he had no idea what his lieutenants were up to when they were working for him.

Yeah, that'll get him off the hook. lol

That's actually a good thing at this time. Before this episode of Con Artiste as President is over we'll be thankful for the strength of our democratic institutions, AKA the Deep State. Other nations lacking our deep history & tradition of democracy likely wouldn't fare nearly as well.

Frankly, I think its good that Turmp isn't taking an active interest in dictating the military more.

Methinks in those many subtle and mysterious ways the military communicates with the civilian side of the gov't, they basically told Trump the Very Wealthy Six Time Draft Dodger to behave like the doting father of a bride would and show up, shut up, pay up and then leave them the fvck alone until the next budget give away comes around.

Didn't help matters any that Trump initially told the military that he knew what was best for them and then went on to insult and disgrace those very experienced generals who wanted to lend Trump a helping hand.

Even as he made the most amoral general he could find into his national security adviser. You can't make this stuff up.

Who needs an intelligence briefing from all of those silly kids when you already have the best brain?

yup. Kasich's people reported: "Well, what did Trump's staff say Trump's role would be? --'Trump would be busy Making America Great Again!' they replied"

so...yeah. Trump is probably perpetually grumpy that he has less time than he planned to fly around and hold his vapid little Nuremberg rallies all over Deploraland and golf.

BAMAVOO looks very very upset by this thread. He probably believes that Trump is smarter than the world's intelligence organizations.

So shocked.

Ah yes, the World of Trump. Surrounds himself with lowlife greed driven opportunists exactly like he is and expects to hide all of their high crime malfeasance in the glass house of public service that they have to operate in.

But even that isn't a problem for his blissfully ignorant supporters that have either turned their critical thinking skills off if they ever had them to begin with or have adjusted their moral compasses to read 180 degrees away from true bearing in order to line up with Trump's broken one. They've buckled themselves securely in their Trump Train seats, shuttered the windows, pulled the blinders down, shut their eyes, plugged their ears and are shouting mantra style over and over again "Lock her up! Build that Wall! Fake media!! Deep State! MAGA MAGA MAGA!!!" lol

I consider it an honor to get a Thumbs Down from a poster suffering from such a serious case of rectal cranial inversion. Finding myself on the same side as someone rooting for the racists and traitors, the anti-science, anti-woman, anti-democracy crowd? That's what would give me immediate cause to re-evaluate my worldview.

Thanks for the confirmation of sorts Bamavoo, your hurt feels are appreciated. :)
