On this Veterans Day...over a 1,000 vets from WWII died

At least that is the average, around 1,000 vets from WWII die every day..until roughly 2008 or 2009 when it should all slow down to a trickle. Boom, just like that, the whole WWII generation of vets will be gone. Just a memory for us to tell our children about.
I cannot thank all of you veterans enough, the sacrifices you have made in your lives, and all of those who have sacrificed their lives. You answered the call, and I will do my duty to let future generations know all that you have done. Thank you, and happy Veterans Day!

My Grandpa was in the 30th Infantry Division but I would feel weird interviewing him and tape recording it, though he does have some good stories.

For a history class I had to interview a WWII vet, so I interviewed my friend's grandfather. When I finished, I wanted to give the tape to his family and I lost it 🙁
However, I did make some decent transcription of it for my presentation, and I was at least able to give that to them. An amazing story. He marched from Omaha beach clear to Berlin.

My grandfather flew Mustangs in European theatre, haven't been able to track down the unit. He died when I was 14. Never talked about it much, but showed me his victory medal once.

Great-uncle was a radio operator on C-47's flying the hump in CBI. He doesn't talk about that much either, but I'm sure he has some stories to tell, as he has a memory like a trap ... amazing guy.

My grandpa was a gunner on a variety of battleships.. he has some great stories about the japanese and some of the fights he was in.
