Was @900 1.75v but the temp stayed down @ <50c; I slowed it down and decresead the volts to 1.65; but to no avail....

My computer started running really slow today for no apperent reason. It is taking like 5 min to start and at least 30sec for most apps.

The chip either works or doesn't. It won't just "slow down" like when a car's engine is slowly seizing.

I recommend you get a better heatsink than what you have, and by that it seems that it's retail(weak). Your CPU is only putting out around 28-29 watts of heat at 900Mhz and 1.75V(I'm assuming you mean 1.75 instead of 7.5, as a .18 micron CPU will fry instantly at this setting). So your heatsink is either really weak, you have poor case cooling, or a combination of the two.

For example, my P3 @ 1050Mhz and 1.95V puts out 38 watts of heat. With an Alpha PAL and 19CFM Sanyo Denki fan(not strong), it runs 43C full load. If I downclocked it to run at about the speed you described, I would not be surprised if I was running at 37C full load.

I suggest a reboot to fix the slow down problem, ME is crap and will do that to you.

fix the volt# sorry.. like I said it's late... I've restarted, shut down and let sit, and kicked it twice(joking) ; Everthything is slowing down still though and it heats up instantly; solely software? I've got no extra progs running...
