On the limits of NF2 dual-channel memory

If you have the first two slots of a 3-slot board filled with ram and put a third stick in, will it disable the dual channel feature? I'm going to get an Abit NF7-S rev2 and will eventually want to upgrade from 512mb to 1gig. Can I just buy 2x256mb sticks then a 512mb stick later and still utilize dual-channel in the first two slots? Or should I just buy 2x512mb sticks right now?

I would get the 2 512mb sticks now, ram prices will be rising soon and then it'll be after the new year before prices start falling again.

You can run DC with 2X256 or 2X256 + 1X512 , but the extra 512 will limit your FSB.
