I thought this was really cool considering the guy who received the first transplant was only supposed to live for a month and wasn't considered fit enough for the list. (He's still alive and out of intensive care.)

This is good news but the artificial heart is not meant as a permanent solution. It is a temporary measure used until a compatible donor heart is found. So the problem of a lack of donor organs still exists. Please consider organ donation.
