4k 60hz at 4:2:0 is 17.82 Gbps, he is already at 8bit.True 4k 120hz requires hdmi 2.1 48Gbps. Hdmi 2.0 is 18Gbps and limited to 4k 60hz.
You may be able to use 4k 120hz at 8bit and a reduced color of 4:2:0 which means no HDR, so it would impact image quality significantly.
