on hdd's 8mb cache vs. 16mb cache

i tried to convince a friend that he should pay an extra $20 ($100 vs $120) for a hdd with 16mb cache.... he's got an athlon 64 venice 3200, 1gig ddr400 ram, and bought a 250GB sata hdd with 8mb cache... if the computer does alot of gaming, photoshop stuff, music production, etc... will it noticibly help to have at extra hdd cache?
