On case fans and rpm

How much of a cooling difference will (4) 120mm 2000rpm fans make over (4) 120mm 1400rpm fans running on the same intake and exhaust setup in the same case?

Depends on the fan, blade pitch and fan thickness have more impact on air flow and static pressure than does fan speed.

- I have four of the 1st item and they are currently on my rig. My cousin is coming home with 8 of the 2nd item. He says he'll only be using half, so I could either use them or he could give them to someone else.

Since you'll presumably be getting them for free, I would just hook a couple up and see how they sound. If they're louder and / or don't push much more air, give them away.

The CM boasts with 90 CFM, while TT only 50 CFM. So the question is whether that lesser amount of airflow (if the numbers are true) is sufficient, and does it actually win you anything in silence.
