I have a MSI K8N Neo 2 Plat. in my system into which I just installed a new floppy drive. All of a sudden, windows is telling me there is no sound device attached. I flashed BIOS to 1.8, uninstalled and reinstalled nVidia drivers (audio only, then everything) and turned onboard audio off in the CMOS, then restarted and turned it back on...nothing. Any suggestions?

Hopefully your sound chip isn't dead... I had sound die on me on a K7S5A, firewire on my NF7-S Rev.2, and an entire system including keyboard and mouse fried by a crappy Deer PSU (stay away from like the plague) - luckily it was just an old Celeron 300 system that I had given away.

If you've just added new hardware or moved cbales around; I'd suggest you recheck the power; IDE, and Audio cable connections of your CD/DVD Rw or Rom unit. Most likely something came loose during your floppy install.
