The only card in the box is a video card, why is the onboard sound cutting out when booting or running multimedia from CD-ROM?

There appear to be no conflicts in device mgr, what gives?

Have you installed the drivers for onboard sound from the MSI CD.99% of users use there own soundcard like SBLive(including myself)I know if you use the onboard sound it uses around 10% of processor power , I would recommend a PCI soundcard like SBLive,to be honest you are better off with a decent soundcard like SBlive. The only thing you can do is check it`s enabled in BIOS & install drivers & check for no conflicts if that does not work get a PCI soundcard(Don`t forget to disable onboard sound in Bios if you use your own PCI soundcard).
:)

If it were my system, I would put a sound card in it, but I'm building these three systems for a church, and I've already given them the cost. I figured there would be no issues with the onboard sound.

If I have to add soundcards, it will take $45 of the top of the total, take money out of my pocket.

I would have purchased different motherboards w/o audio if I'd have known they weren't gonna work properly.

Thanks for the reply, they work OK, it just gets really bad when running multimedia from CD-ROM. :(
