On-board SiS LAN Adapter...

Well, I finally got all my SFF stuff together, and after having fun figuring out some hard drive issues, now I can't get my on-board ethernet adapter to work.

I successfully formatted the hard drive, yadda yadda... and now that I booted up windows, it won't detect my home LAN at all. As a matter of fact, it won't even bring up the MAC address or any other useful information when I go to the command prompt and type:

ipconfig /all

I've tried install/uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers three times now and it hasn't done a thing.

ABIT SG-80

This board has the SiS900 on-board ethernet adapter.

I will have to update this later tonight since I'm at work right now. But in the meantime, any suggestions? 🙁

Yes, the lights on the NIC do light up. What do you mean "the one in the bios"?

It's on-board...

I think he means is it enabled in the BIOS

Does the Network Device show up in Device Manager? If so, is it enabled? disabled?

Also check Device Manager in Windows to make sure the driver is properly installed,
Windows Key+Pause/Break Key,
Hardware,
Device Manager,
There should not be a red x on the adapter Network adapters.

yeah the network device shows up in device manager.

edit: its enabled.

what does it say on the properties screen? it could be as easy as an IRQ conflict, are you using onboard sound or a separate sound card? man if that is the problem we are talking about 1998 issues then!
