On board Audio or SB Live Value?

I just bought Abit IC7 which has some sort of on board audio. I also have a 3+ year old SB Live Value!. Which one is better? I understand that onboard audio usually sucks, however, SB Live! is over 4 years old so it could be pretty outdated as well.

SBLive is still pretty good, better than onboard except maybe SoundStorm, but i havent tried that out, but go with the Sblive over the onboard.

The IC7 probably has a C-Media 8738 variant sound chip, ie those found on $10 sound cards. You can test it out to see which you'll like more, but chances are that the Live's a bit better.

Use the SbLive! less cpu usage = faster games.

A lot of the current onboard setups sound a lot better than SB Live, and Turtle Beach Santa Cruz or Philips Acoustic Edge are much better bang for the buck.

for the money, you can find Sound Blaster Audigy's for fairly cheap now i think

That's what matters right? But yeah I say use the SBLive!, I had one untill it started making popping noises...
