On batteries included in products from no-name brands, why do they print their name?

I picked up a mustache trimmer and it had a single battery included in it, it was probably the cheapest one they could find so that they could tell Wal*Mart that it had a "battery."

Why do they bother printing their name and other information? Their name says "Double Panda" followed by things like "Super Alkaline," etc.

Why bother with that? Just leave it blank, and reduce costs, it doesn't matter.

Am I missing something to this?

they need to print a warning label on it anyway, probably doesn't cost any more to fill the otherwise unused space.

Maybe some day in the future you'll be running a business and need a cheap battery for your products...

Warnings, identification of company of origin, and possibly identification of country of origin are all probably required by law in at least some major jurisdictions.

That's a no name brand to you maybe, but in their home country, likely not. Anyways, they don't make the batteries.

Oh, Double Panda... they're very good. Much better than Single Panda. In any case, Pandas are known for being highly energetic and of great stamina. Whereas the Golden Lucky Sloth batteries... not so much.

Brands may not be important to you, but it is very important for Double Panda.

Sounds like a business opportunity for ya! Open a Chinese battery factory that only makes batteries with a plain black and white label that just says "BooCo AA Battery" or something, and you'll be able to sell them for half a penny cheaper than the other guys batteries! Profit!
