Why is this baseless belief as prevalent as it is? Its popularity stems in part from what is widely believed about men: that their behaviors are more sexually motivated than those of women, with this heightened impetus being attributable to how the males of the species are physically wired rather than to matters of conscious choice or societal conditioning. A statistic of this nature works to confirm that assumption by overlaying a patina of faux science onto the "Men think of nothing but sex, sex, sex!" caricature that we've become so deeply enamoured of.

it's the stupidest statistic ever, since it doesn't say for HOW LONG. If a guy thinks of sex for two seconds a day, you can divide that over 16 hours (gotta sleep sometime), and you get that, sure enough, men think of sex every seven seconds...for a few milliseconds.

ok, well I was just talking about this tonight with my co-worker, and he said that he thinks about it every day but certainly not every 7 seconds. He said whenever he is bored it crosses his mind, or.. and I quote..

"When I see a nice set of jugs on TV or somewhere".

I wouldn't know personally because I am a woman.

hmmmm....maybe once every hour or something like that. It depends I guess.
 
That's absolute horsesh!t. Saying men think about sex every 10 seconds means that it is impossible for a man to concentrate on anything non-sexual for longer than 10 seconds.

"Nurse, please hand me the scalpel. Okay, I am about to make the primary incision in the... hey, her heart looks like a tit, oh fvck yeah!"

Heck, I think about sex with Barbara Mikkelson every seven seconds. The rest of the time, I think about sex with someone else.
