On average how much does a "PC Technician" make?

Nocturnal

Lifer
Is $10.00 an hour reasonable or safe to say a PC Technician makes?

I'm gonna apply for this job in which I'm supposed to go to place and put together computer systems. I've got a bunch of experience putting computers together, trouble shooting, etc.

I'm excited and I hope it's a way to get my foot into the door of IT.

Thanks.

$10.00 an hour is reasonable Nocturnal, especially for an entry level position. BTW, do you have any certs under your belt yet?

Zim, none, but currently working on A+. They recommend A+ but it is not required. I just hope I can get my foot in the door with at least a $10.00 an hour salary. That would be good enough for me. I just want room for raises and to grow into a better position.

Even though they say the A+ cert is "toilet paper," go for it and use it as a foundation for your future certs IMO Nocturnal 🙂

Good Luck w/ the application

$10 per hour sounds low, but I guess normal for entry level like people said.

I have yet to actually talk to the people. I'm just guessing and asking what is the norm. I'll be happy at $10.00 but ecstatic at $15.00 an hour.

That's not bad when you consider you can train a Monkey to build a Computer. We use to get get $15 to $20 per system we assembled back when I worked as a tech and then the Company outsourced it to another shop who did it for $10 a shot. I didn't care though as it was one boring job.
