60-70/hour if it's a book I'm enjoying.

Much less if it's a book I'm not.

a page a minute is pretty standard for most, I would say I am fairly above average in speed. Also its all about reading and retaining, anyone can read fast and get some basic points but few can read very fast and retain all the pertinent information.

30-60 per hour, depends on the book really. I've easily killed 400-600 page books in a day.

i can only get 20 or so per hour now...which is weird, i was always a very fast reader. now, i concentrate way too much on the words instead of sentences and it really screws me up. its like i have anti ADD.

Usually 60/hr if it's for school or it's boring, 20-30 if I have something else on my mind, and it's been as bad as 10/hr when I'm trying to read while sitting in front of my computer :p
For really engrossing novels, I'll read 100+/hr

fiction: 60-70 an hour depending on the writer

I can chew through most paperback fiction like candy.

I remember reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in 7 hours, and that's a 672 page book... so about 96 pages an hour or about 1.6 pages a minute.

Very dense material, 50pgs/hr. Light material 100pgs/hr. Give or take, it varies depending on other factors.

Usually a page a minute depending on the font size and such. The better the book, the faster the reading goes.

paperback novels for my own enjoyment I can read anywhere from 50-70 pages an hour
It all depends on how tired I am (I usually read before bed)

If it's something I have to know well for school usually about 30-50
It took me forever to get through the Scarlett Letter--40 pages describing boredom, argh

Edit: I only got about 25 pages an hour with Scarlett Letter
Was so focused on my rant I forgot why I mentioned it...

I read the entire LOTR trilogy in maybe 15-20 hours. That's about 1100 pages, so 55 - 73 pages an hour? That's probably a little low since the font of the book was tiny.

30 - 50 ppm depending on what im reading sometimes slightly slower or faster than that estimate as well depending on factors other than interesting/boring, such as size of book / font size / double or single spacing, etc etc

Well I can go through 'book/non-fiction novel' textbooks at about 20-25 pahes an hour. Usually slow down a bit case I reread a few pages after I 'doze off' and read, but don't absorb.
