Yeah, that's a nice collection, but they charge in GBP in the market. For some reason, Google won't allow payments charged to Amex in foreign currency and I've just been too lazy to put my debit card on the account.

That's odd... It charges to a Visa fine :D

You can run any number of different home launchers if you don't like touchwiz without rooting. Launchpro is pretty popular. You can switch home launchers on the fly as often as you wish anytime you want.

I second that nod to Launcher Pro. It's pretty nice. Especially when paired with Fancy Widget on the main screen, although that might not be available in the market anymore because HTC complained. It's basically a knockoff of the Sense clock/weather widget, complete with shortcuts to the clock and weather apps.

Which ad blocker are you using? I've been considering this route, but basically haven't done it out of laziness. Any rec on what works well?

I'm using Adfree. It's free from the marketplace for root users. Haven't tried others. This works for me.

I'm currently using Beautiful Home widget with aquarium live wallpaper on Touchwiz 3.0.

sorry i had let this thread die.. what about any other AT&T compatible android phone from other carriers?

i just checked and i can get a captivate for 199 without having to renew my 2 yr contract.

I may just do that - i can always sell it and go back to my iphone if it doesn't' work out.

For those looking into the Captivate, walmart.com has it for $89.99 with the 2 year contract (same for new and extending). Pretty good deal. I think Amazon is only $49.99 for new customers.
The att stores can not match the prices.

for anyone with the Captivate.. does it use proprietary connectors/chargers? Or mini-usb?

That's weird, I paid in USD for BW with a Mastercard, not GBP. I also bought Weather and Toggle Widgets which does the same thing as BW.
