ON AIR: U.S. Weapons Against Iraq [History Channel]

Sweet program on military hardware showing on The History Channel tonight- at least here, it's on right now. Check it out!

10:00PM - 11:00PM U.S. Weapons against Iraq

When the U.S. talks about "a sophisticated bombing campaign different than 1991", what exactly does it mean? Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has stated that only 100,000 soldiers would be used in a campaign against Iraq. With so few troops, the military would be relying on the Air Force's crown jewels--the F117 Stealth Fighter and B2 Stealth Bomber. We also examine a microwave weapon that fries ground electronics, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and the new "Stryker" combat vehicles.

You know, I think its really stupid that we gave Iraq all their weapons in the first place. I love how we go in and support any enemy of our enemy, then we gotta go kill them with another country, and the cycle continues. The US foriegn policy is wacked.

I'm sorry, did I ask your opinion? No I didn't- I'm merely telling people of a cool program on TV right now. End of story. Get out of my thread.

You may have been able to make that argument back in '91, but little of the remaining Iraqi force is using US supplied equipment. French supplied maybe (France was sending spare parts to Iraq as late as January), but not US.

No, sorry... this is one of the most valid arguements you can throw at US policy right now. They befriend countries to serve their needs, and pull a 180 when their purpose has been served. "Opps.. wish we hadn't done that... they're bad, bad people now!" (ie: Iraq, Binladen, Afghan vs Soviets... etc... )

So is anybody watching or going to comment on the show?

Really cool so far- going over all the precision munitions we're going to use next week and likely what aircraft as well. Also what munitions and aircraft that were used 12 years ago. Man, the F-117 is so badass...
