On a resume

Languages: 1, 2, 3, 4

perhaps add something a bit more detail about your skill level:
Languages: 1 (fluent including medical terminology), 2 (read and write only), 3 (limited)

There is nothing wrong with your layout but I find that I am cramped for space so I would go with a single line approach.

Yeah i see. The resume isn't for me, but i just wondered what the title should be so the company knows that those languages apply to you.

I'd go with what Reel said. Remind your friend that he or she shouldn't add lines to make it seem longer, because the employer will see right through it, especially if you're young (I.e. where it is doubtful you have enough to fill two pages that is meaningful to whatever you're applying for).

I heard a tip to not try and have a lot of whitespace on your resume, so listing things
1)
2)
3)
etc..

... wouldnt be good. i think something like:

Fluent in English and Spanish; Proficient in French; Conversational in Arabic;

Agreed.

Something along the lines of "Multilingual communication skills in X, Y, and Z."
