On A PS3, does the F@H process even when the channel is not pulled up?

I would like to know, now that I have F@H all setup on my PS3, can I just turn on the PS3, and will it start folding? Or do I have to go to the channel to do it?

Also meaning that it ONLY folds when looking at that screen, so I can't surf the web on it and fold at the same time???
 
im pretty sure that you have to go into the application itself and then it will fold. however, you can have the option to set it to go on automatically after 10, 20, 30 minutes of standby on the ps3. i usually have mine on 10 minutes, if any.
