Do you get off the plane while you wait for the plane to take off again?

How long of a lay-over? Where is the lay-over?

Actually, I'd get off regardless to stretch and get some blood pumping through my legs.

If I'm comfortable on the plane and don't need to get anything, I stay on it. If I'm restless or hungry, I get off.

Atlanta - 2 hours

I doubt they'll let you stay on that long. I've always been forced off the plane if the layover lasts more than an hour.

I actually rethought my statement. It wouldn't matter where or how long, I'd still get off to stretch my legs and get the blood flowing again.

I'd get off for sure...

When in Barbados, There was a 7 hour lay-over... some people stayed on the plane... I guess to sleep or something... *shrugs*

THey will usually force you off the plane because they like to get the cleaning crews in there to clean up. Depends on the airline and the circumstances, but my guess is you will be asked to deboard.

I like to sneak into the cockpit and just taxi around the airport for a little while.

Since 9/11 they won't let you do that anymore.
Yeah, damn rules and regulations. I used to love doing that.

On the flights I've been on where there were some people in your situation, they asked them to deplane so the cleaning crew could work their magic (or lack thereof).

Personally, I'd get out and walk around...use the restroom...etc.

if its southwest, they give you the option, but the turnaround time is so short it doesn't really matter

other airlines, why not get off? you have a seat assignment
