On a check, which set of numbers is the routing number?

I've got 3 sets of numbers on the bottom of the check. The first set is long, the 2nd has my account number and the third set is only 4 digits long.

for reference, the first always is routing , the second is your bank account #, and the third (optional) is the check # (should match up top right corner).
