I really like this application for writing and I just used it to write a paper
I havnt been able to take use of all if, I used it to write the body of the paper then used Pages to finish formatting it.
Hope other people like it as much as do, the one problem I see is that they should come up with a way to have it export to your favorite word-processor

Ommwriter is unique as a word processor for several reasons. It only has a full screen workspace. It lacks several of the options of most other word processors (you can only write in three fonts and three font sizes). Even when you minimize its window, there is no Mac-like genie effect Ommwriter just fades away. But its Zen-like minimalism and lack of options are the point.
Ommwriter puts you in the middle of a secluded snowy landscape on a foggy winter's day. As relaxing music calms you, the words you type appear on your screen as if you were writing them in the sky. It's just you and your thoughts for miles around. And, from just three writings, I can tell you Ommwriter does its job exceptionally well. When I write in it, within minutes I no longer hear the sounds of busy London city life zooming past my flat. You really have to use it to get a good idea of how well it works. For a quick look, check out the video below.
In addition to the snowy landscape there are seven built-in soundtracks and images you can choose from. The guys at a Barcelona creative agency called Herraiz Soto & Co. originally designed Ommwriter as an in-house tool to help their creative people get their thoughts flowing.
We are a digital creative agency. We love great ideas. We also know how difficult it is to sometimes come up with those ideas.
We also love writing. We love writing for the simple pleasure of, well, writing. Besides, writing is a beautiful way to chase great ideas.
As mere mortals, we also face the usual challenges of daily life: a multitude of windows open on our computer desktops, messages, emails, calls, meetings, and those crazy thoughts that pass through our minds.
Ommwriter emerged as an internal tool to help transport us away from the humdrum noise; allowing us to be at one with ourselves and our ideas. All said and done, after having created something so valuable, we figured that Ommwriter was just too good to keep to ourselves.
Oh, and if by using Ommwriter, you stumble across a good idea, do us a favor. Have a beer on us, or send us a message and tell us what you think about it. We'd love to hear from you.
Thanks
Herraiz Soto & Co
- Word count is a must requirement for bloggers and writers. Any plans on including this feature soon? Yes. It is already scheduled for release in the following beta release. Coming soon.
- How about more fonts and basic formatting features like bold, underline etc. ? We are looking into it. Remember, Ommwriter is not meant to replace your current text editor or word processor.
- Do you offer automatic spell-checking ? Ommwriter does not offer an in-built spell-checker. However, we have been told that you can enable the spell-checking feature of your Mac to work together with Ommwriter. How? Right click on the text box, choose "Spelling and Grammar >> Check Spelling While you Type". This will underline misspelled words, using your system settings language.
- Does Ommwriter support Spaces within the Mac? It does as much as any other app does.
- Can I print directly from Ommwriter? Ommwriter does not support printing today. In order to print your creation, we recommend you copy and paste the text to your favorite text editor or word processor.
- What is the difference between saving a file as .omm versus .txt? Both files are the same. The only difference is the file extension.

Hope other people like it as much as do, the one problem I see is that they should come up with a way to have it export to your favorite word-processor
