Ok, I just heard on the news that Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, and Dennis Rodman (possibly others?) might ALL come back to the NBA and play for the Wizards for the league minimum for their age. WTF!!!!! Talk about the old geezer dream team. Though I think MJ could still be the best.
I can't find a link at the moment though...maybe someone else can help

wow, think of the possible marketing tie-ins! The opportunities are endless! They could endorse Geritol, Metamucil, Depends, special dentures, contoured beds... the list goes on! How do I get in as an agent for these guys? ;)

screw jordan. screw rodman. ewing is okay.

jordan left because of the cap. then he found out he could make alot doing endorsements, so now he can "afford" (like the rich prick couldnt before) to play again. granted he is talented, but him coming back is very lemieux-esque (Owner coming out of retirement to help his own team). the difference in my book: I love lemieux, i hate jordon.

rodman is just lame. ive always hated him.

of course, the nba is suck anyway, NCAA is where its at.

That team would be like the Jazz, great in the regular season but run out of gas in the playoffs every year.

That'd be badass. I'd like to see this. Great center in Patrick. The best guard in MJ and hell Mr. Magnet in Rodman.

I'd watch this team play.

<< jordan left because of the cap. >>

That's funny, I've always heard people say that he left because Phil Jackson left, including Jordan himself. Trust me, he has plenty of money; I doubt he's that greedy.

Yeah, he knows he has the money and I am sure the only reason he left is because Pippen was off to Portland and Phil was leaving as well.

I'll bet Kobe is drooling at the chance to show up Jordan in his advanced age.

Jordan's just pissed because he can't make a team great with only his presence. Rodman's just pissed because the only movie offers he got were very BAD movies. Ewing I respect, but he just doesn't have it anymore. The Knicks knew it, Ewing knows it. I would say that this is just another false rumor.

This is all pretty far fetched if you ask me, but I could be wrong.

The main reason why Jordan won't come back is the money he'll lose on not being an owner. As the NBA states, an owner (even a partial one) cannot play for the team. If Jordan wants to come back, he'll have to sell/give his share of the team away to someone (probably his wife if he gives, but he may sell). This is not the case with hockey -- you can play, own, coach, whatever all at the same time.

_IF_ it all happened, getting those players (perhaps Barkley too), that would be an interesting mix. You just can't throw talent like that together and expect a championship in ONE year -- you'll need at least two. If they could get all the people back, I would have to agree that they would run out of steam near the end of the year. Its the case with Utah and it will definitely be part of the same thing for the Wizards too.

With the exception of Jordan,
they wouldn't COMBINE to play 82 games,
even with Barkley in the mix.

Ewing, injuries
Rodman, suspensions
Barkley, both =P

Dont you think it was odd that he left right after the cap? hmm? Jordan and his buddies could give any reason that they want.

Sure, Drexler can back up Jordan, and Magic can run the point, it could happen.
