I know how you feel 🙂 A few months ago I bought a AIW 8500 DV froma forum member so that I could bring myself into modern times, video card wise. My previous video card was a radeon 7500. When I got the card, it had a defect in it causing me to get like 5fps in Quake in the lowest setting, and I for a 3dMark2001 score of 1913 😉 I called up ATI and they RMA'ed it. I just got the replacement in today, and the problem is fixed 😀 At least I feel semi-up to date 😛

When did our icons go 3d? 4 mb legacy is plenty good for the forum.

heheh word

but when your 1.7 gig athlonxp system lags when scrolling down long threads, youve got to draw the line 😀

i mean all those 2d icons were probably ravaging my legacy card hehe 😛

I bought an 8500DV about 18 mos. or so ago for my HTPC, which I just got up and running *last* week. (many reasons for the delay 🙂 ). Well, went to ATI's site to check on updates for the drivers/software and found it's in the 'Legacy' products section. :Q
