OK, I'm sure you've all heard me make fun of those "urban" clothing stores, you know, the little local boutiques selling overpriced trash picked out at the Goodwill box? They also sell Diesel jeans for $160 - $200 (yes, the same ones you can get in a department store for $80.) Well somehow I'm on the mailing list for one of them. I was gonna opt-out but some of the ads are hilarious.

What boggles my mind...the trash these stores sells is actually MORE expensive than Abercrombie...and it was picked out at a THRIFT STORE!!! People have so much money to throw away its scary...

Seriously, who decided to bring back mesh baseball caps? Those things are just ugly. I was at my bro-in-law's JV football game last week and there was some high school punk with a mesh cap and over-sized aviator glasses. I thought I had warped back to the 80s.

I'm not knocking your sense of fashion...hell some of those shirts from the 70's look really good right about now. I just can't stand people paying big money for the 'urban thrift' look...if you wanna look cool, go out to the ghetto, find the goodwill store and pick out the styles yourself.

I once worked at a used clothing distributor in the San Francisco area. We bought clothes by the TON from Goodwill, sorted it, and sold it...mostly to businesses in 3rd world countries.

BUT, a few local people would come in and look through our stuff, buy some, and then sell it at like 10 times markup as "vintage" clothing. I still can't believe people pay that much for that crap.

Nothing like dealing in used underwear (insert grossed-out emoticon here).
