Omg this meeting is so long.

75 mins...

but then I'm grateful I have a white collar job. I'd rather be in a comfortable chair in a horrible shape than doing physical labor.

i was just about to post about being thankful you have a job but then I refreshed this post to see you edited your post

have a text chat with someone else at the meeting

make sure to talk about the other people there

Zeze, look around the room and add up the salaries. Ask if anyone has anything to add that is worth $X/hour to listen to.

Even as a peon, I got a long, boring, very expensive ($9000+ per hour back in the 90s) meeting shut down right fast with that approach. My boss couldn't decide whether to chew my ass or give me a raise.

Pretty much the only meeting I have is a bi-weekly one with my other fellow developers. I'm kind of a pleb so I don't have many meetings, and besides the bi-weekly one haven't had one in months. There's a couple managers that all they do is sit on the phone all day, in meetings I guess. What a job... LMAO. And yet they can't hire a single dev when we've lost two recently. SMH

Of course .... As you can see, very easily trained also.

Sometimes I like long meetings, especially if I can just sit and listen. You can only pretend to do work at your desk for so long.

I don't miss IT meetings when I used to work at the hospital. It was more of a bash party than a meeting. IT manager would spend 2 hours telling everyone what they did wrong in the past week.

Meanwhile I was thinking of all the productive things I could be doing instead.

We have most of our meetings on Mondays here. They generally last about 45 minutes and are pretty useless. I used to take off Friday's a few times a year for a nice weekend. Lately I've been taking off Mondays instead just to miss the meeting...

Pretty sad.

Sometimes meetings are a nice way to give your brain a break.

Unless it's a meeting that You're hosting and it's technical in nature. My position demands lots of meetings to be hosted on my end.

I have a funny meeting story, but unfortunately I wasn't in this particular meeting.

Like every company, a few people are notorious for dragging meetings on longer than they should go on for. So during some, you would expect some people to be yawning, especially this one which I think was in the afternoon. Well, this one woman yawned so wide she dislocated her jaw and had to go to the hospital. Great way to get out of a meeting early, I guess!
