That wasn't a scam at all. The title was 100% truthfull and not misleading, as well as the short description of the item. It wasn't a lengthy 4 page description. The buyer is a re-re

I wonder how truthful the seller really was? When you check the bid history, there were a few bid retractions stating that the seller changed the description midway in the auction.

I don't have much sympathy for the buyer there, the guy makes it pretty clear that it's just for the box. The ones where they list the specs of the device that WAS in the box are an obvious attempt to defraud someone, and I think eBay should give those sellers the boot. This guy... I think he knew or at least hoped there would be people out there dumb enough to not even read the auction, obviously it's not worth his time to sell empty boxes on eBay if they go for what they're really worth.
